Hello, Huskies!

#OurSCSU community is having a busy summer, and we hope you're able to join in on the fun! We celebrated our annual Lemonade Concert & Art Fair this month, and enjoyed the first of two Summertime by George appearances. We'll attend the July 29 Summertime by George event as well.

While we don't want summer to go by too quickly, we are excited to welcome you all back to campus for Homecoming this fall! Be sure to save the dates and join us September 30 through October 3 for all the fun. Bookmark our Homecoming website and follow our social media pages throughout the summer for all the events and details as they're released. In addition, sponsorship opportunities are now open for Homecoming's #OurSCSU Gala. Along with all the events we have planned, we've launched the 2026 Alumni Survey . We hope all our alumni will fill it out if they haven't already. Your feedback is important to us and lets us know how we can better connect with #OurSCSU community. We are listening, and your voice matters! The survey is open through the end of October and you can fill it out by clicking here .

Whether you're an alum, student, faculty, staff or friend of SCSU, we hope you'll continue to stay connected with our university through whichever means you are able — attending an event , supporting SCSU with a gift, updating your contact information so you can stay informed, and sharing your story through the #OurSCSU website . There is so much to be proud of in #OurSCSU community.

70-year-old SCSU student fulfills degree promise to best friend
David Silker ’26 always carried one regret during his adult life: not finishing his bachelor’s degree from St. Cloud State University. But when Silker’s best friend Bill Buttweiler ’78 was nearing the end of a cancer battle in late 2015, Buttweiler challenged him to make good on that wish.
