Hello, Huskies!
November has been an exciting month at St. Cloud State University. We welcomed SCSU presidential candidates to campus, and now know who the next leader will be of our beloved university. We are thrilled to welcome President-Designate Dr. Gregory Tomso to #OurSCSU community! Dr. Tomso joins the Husky pack from the University of West Florida, and will officially become the 26th president of SCSU on Jan. 5. We look forward to introducing our next president to #OurSCSU community and seeing all the ways we can continue to be stronger together under his direction. There are a number of exciting events planned to celebrate both the winter season as well as our Husky pride. Our fourth annual Winterfest is next week. We hope you'll join us for campfires, s'mores, horse-drawn wagon rides, Hammerschlagen and more beneath winter lights on campus.
In January we'll head out to the West Coast for Huskies in California , and will cheer on the SCSU men's hockey team during a game watch party near the Twin Cities. In February we'll gather with Huskies in Arizona as well. Hopefully you can join us for at least one of these fun events!
As we look to stay connected with our fellow Huskies, strenghtening our ties with the St. Cloud region is just as important. To achieve this, we've created the Husky Community Engagement Fund to provide SCSU's president with the opportunity to make strategic investments in community-focused initiatives and programs that will enhance the relationships between the surrounding region and our University. All donations to this fund received prior to Dec. 31, 2025, will be matched, on a dollar-for-dollar basis, up to $100,000 thanks to an anonymous donor from our community.
