The Women's Center volunteer program offers volunteer, field work, work
study, and internship opportunities. Opportunities include working with
staff, interns, or other volunteers in existing programs.
If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out our Volunteer
Application (2page
pdf) and turn it in to the Women's Center.
Examples:
Committee Work : Serve on any number of committees such
as the program planning committee, women's mentorship committee, or cultural
diversity planning committee.
Special Projects : Special projects are constantly being
developed. For example: creation of a brochure listing female physicians
in the St. Cloud area ; development of a display in celebration of National
Women's History Month for display cases in Centennial Hall; and organizing
events for Take Our Daughters to Work Day.
Publicize Events : Help to create and/or hang posters
throughout campus. Reserve space in Atwood for Women's Center posters
or take posters to Atwood and post on easels.
Resource Library : Help to maintain library by straightening
and re-shelving books, catalogue new books and maintain the annotated
bibliography. Help people use the resource library by outlining types
of resources and information available, as well as explain policies such
as copy and checkout procedures
Phones : Answer phones, provide information and direct
calls to staff
Mailings : Under staff supervision, apply labels, organize
envelopes and prepare Women's Center mailings
Bulletin Boards : Keep Women's Center bulletin boards
orderly and up-to-date and remove outdated flyers, program announcements,
etc.
Sexual Violence Prevention Program : Work with Campus
Advocates Against Sexual Assault or assist in recruiting and coordinating
the training for peer educators.
Individualized projects can also be developed.
