Women's Center: Gender Violence Prevention Program
Peer Education

St. Cloud State University is committed to providing a safe and diverse campus.  As part of the Gender Violence Resources Office, new SCSU students carrying a minimum six-credit load are required to attend an educational session on the prevention of sexual violence.

The Respect and Responsibility workshop is a requirement in order to provide students with resources and information (link to resources and referrals page)  about sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexism, anti-Semitism, racism, homophobia and ableism.

Trained Sexual Assault Advocates are available on site at each Respect and Responsibility workshop.

New students will receive a letter about the workshop containing registration instructions in their packets at orientation or will receive it in the mail if they didn't attend an orientation.  The workshop is listed under Orientation 020 in the registration system.  If students do not attend the workshop their registration for subsequent semesters will be blocked.

If you are a victim/survivor of sexual assault and would prefer to attend an alternative individual session, please call Lee Ladue at 320-308-3995 to schedule a time.

If you are unable to attend any of the scheduled sessions due to legitimate time conflicts, you must call the Gender Violence Resources Office at 320-308-4958 to discuss alternate arrangements.
