Transfer & Non-Traditional Student Orientation
Activities provided during Orientation are open for all new transfer, commuter & adult student learner/non-traditional students. We strongly encourage attendance of all students throughout our programmed events.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 23, 2014
8:00am - 4:00pm Residence Hall Move-In
Students living in the residence halls will receive information on their scheduled move-in time in August from Residential Life.
9:00am - 5:00pm Orientation Check-In
All new first year and transfer students must check-in to get their personalized schedules and Orientation t-shirt!
Students not arriving to St. Cloud on Saturday may utilize late check-in on Sunday from 8:15am - 9:15am.

11:00am - 5:00pm Welcome Picnic
All new first year, transfer and adult students are welcome to join us for the annual SCSU Welcome Picnic. Each student who checks in to orientation will receive two free picnic passes for their family/friends. Additional tickets can be purchased at the picnic entrance.
Rainsite: Garvey Commons
Students are encouraged to attend workshops to prepare for the start of classes and learn more about the SCSU experience.

Explore Your World: Education Abroad
SCSU has made a commitment to double the number of students going abroad in the next five years. Learn how you can build an education abroad experience into your degree at SCSU, whether it's living in a castle in Alnwick, England, exploring Malaysia at Taylor's University, studying at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in South Africa or one of our other programs, see how study abroad can work for you!

Workstudy and Part-Time Jobs in College
Many students anticipate working to support themselves while in college, but don't know about the options for employment. Come learn about the work study program through Financial Aid, campus job postings and the cons/benefits of working in college.

Open Houses will be available in a number of areas across campus. Please stop in to introduce yourself, pick up a snack and get your questions answered!

FREE Child Care is available on Sunday. Student-Parents must register in advance using the Orientation Group sign-up.
Students MUST wear their orientation t-shirt on Sunday for Orientation (provided at check-in). We also recommend bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated in the Minnesota heat!

Students who join the Student-Parent, Adult Student Learner/Non-Traditional Student or Transfer group will have a specific afternoon track to meet their needs. Orientation Leaders will provide personalized campus tours, activities related to their group and lead students through an academic and student support resource fair.

Faculty and staff from across campus will be available to answer questions and provide information on the academic and student support services available at SCSU.
Every orientation group will have time to explore these resources together.
