All new students (international students and domestic students) are encouraged to join us for spring orientation. Whether you're a new first year student coming out of high school, transferring from another college, coming back to school after a career in the military or private sector or a new PSEO student, we encourage you to participate to meet other students and get prepared for the start of spring semester 2015!

FREE Parking is available Welcome Weekend for commuters in N Lot and the South Pay Lot.

10:00am - 10:30am Orientation Check-In*

All new first year, transfer and adult students must check-in to get their schedules and Orientation t-shirt! Just bring your SCSU ID card for easy check-in.
Atwood Memorial Center, Theatre Lounge (1st floor)

10:30am Welcome & Introductions

Meet the Orientation student leaders and the staff from First Year & Transition Programs at SCSU.

11:00am SCSU 101 Presentation

Learn about the policies and expectations for becoming a member of the SCSU community through this engaging presentation. Feel free to bring your cell phone - you will be texting in responses to questions and plugging information into your phone throughout this session!

12:00pm Welcome Lunch

All new first year, transfer and adult students starting at SCSU for spring semester are welcome to join us for the welcome lunch & networking time.

12:45pm Orientation Groups

Get the chance to meet other new students, ask questions of our seasoned orientation leader staff and get prepared for the first day of classes.

1:45pm Community through Diversity Workshop

This workshop is required of all new SCSU students and we encourage you to take this opportunity to fulfill the requirement with other new students.


Confused about your StarID, Tech ID, HuskyNet or D2L? Want to learn how to get your emails on your smart phone? Need to adjust classes on your spring schedule, accept your financial aid or need a tour of campus to find your classes? Maybe you'd like help getting your books from the bookstore or learning more about student support services. This is the time to ask questions and get them answered! New students will take care of these tasks in small groups with our Orientation staff.

4:00pm - 6:00pm New Student Social

All new students and their friends are invited to join us for FREE bowling, billiards & pool in the Atwood Underground (lower level bowling alley/rec center). Not interested in the activities? Still consider joining us to ask questions, meet other new students and get excited about the start of the semester.
