In addition to Welcome Weekend programming, St. Cloud State has a new student-program requirement:

Respect and Responsibility Program

As a St. Cloud State University student, you are now part of a vibrant and diverse campus community, in which you can explore your academic, personal and social aspirations. To help foster a welcoming and safe community, we require that all new students complete the Respect and Responsibility program as part of their ongoing Orientation. You will receive more information on part one and two of the program through your HuskyNet e-mail account.

The first part of the program is the Gender Violence Prevention Program, an on-line course that addresses stalking, dating violence and sexual assault. Instructions for accessing the course are sent to all new students via their Huskynet account near the start of the semester. For more information or for assistance with this course, contact the Women’s Center at 320-308-4958.

The second part of the program is a one hour workshop called Community through Diversity. Registration information will be sent to student's Huskynet account. Workshops begin the second week of the semester. The workshop is offered in some Introduction to College classes and in residence halls, so check with your instructor and Hall Director concerning those options before registering for a workshop. We are pleased to offer this program as part of our spring orientation program on January 11 for new students. It is built into our schedule for that day and we encourage all new students to participate in this opportunity.

Please note that the Respect and Responsibility Program is required, and a registration hold may be placed if you have not completed the program by mid-semester.

For more information on the Respect and Responsibility Program, visit and if you have questions about Part Two, Community through Diversity, please e-mail

All new entering students are charged a fee for Orientation at SCSU.

Students needing an accommodation to participate in the Welcome Weekend activities should contact the First Year & Transition Programs office at: or (320) 308-2941. Kindly give us at least a week's notice.
