William Huntzicker

William Huntzicker, an assistant professor of journalism and mass communications at St. Cloud State University, is the author of "The Popular Press 1833-1865" and numerous book chapters and articles on nineteenth-century newspapers and magazines. He wrote the chapter on frontier newspapers for the most widely used textbook on American journalism history. He has done academic presentations on visual stereotypes of American Indians and Asian Americans in the nineteenth century. He wrote a chapter on Frank Leslie and his illustrated newspaper for a book on the Civil War press, and his papers on "Uncle Tom's Cabin," "Gone with the Wind," and "Roots" will be included in a forthcoming book on the Civil War in fiction and film. He holds master's and doctoral degrees in American studies from the University of Minnesota.

All events are free and open to the Public.

Parking: For the evening performances, parking is available anywhere on campus after 7 pm. Evening performances will be held in the Performing Arts Center Arena Theater. For daytime events, parking is available in Lots K and M on the St. Cloud State University campus. Free shuttle buses will be provided from K Lot to within one short block of the festival venue. Day events will be held in the Atwood Little Theater.
