Arrive in St. Cloud
Attend dinner with your SCSU student;

Specific Events (show a copy of your Family Weekend Confirmation for free entrance into the Friday evening events):

5 - 10:30 p.m. - Fitness Center Open (located next to Halenbeck Hall) - brought to you by Campus Recreation
Due to liability purposes, NO ONE under the age of 18 is allowed to use the facility.

5 - 11:30 p.m. - Atwood Underground Open for bowling, billiards & table tennis (located in Atwood Memorial Center Lower Level)

6 - 9 p.m. - Climbing Wall Open (located in the Fitness Center next to Halenbeck Hall) - in conjunction with Outdoor Endeavors
Anyone under the age of 18 MUST have a parent present to sign a release.

6:30 p.m. - Take Back the Night (MOVED TO ATWOOD BRICKYARD DUE TO WEATHER)) - Brought to you by the Women's Center Speak out against violence against women. Friday September 25, 2009. Children's activities, food, clothesline project, and live music from Cannery Row. Rally and march to follow.

7:30 p.m. - Roger McGuinn Concert (Paramount Theatre - downtown St. Cloud) - TIckets are $20 and can be purchased through the Paramount Box Office (320-259-5463) or on line at www.paramountarts.org and click on tickets

8 p.m. - Movie Showing: "UP"

Saturday, September 26

There will be a Family Weekend Information Table in the Atwood Memorial Center Main Lounge from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

All of the events are included with your Family Weekend Registration, unless otherwise noted.  Your Family Weekend name tags will get you free admission to the events listed unless you are given a ticket.

10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Family Weekend (FW) Check-In - Atwood Memorial Center Main Lounge

  • Activities during Check-In: 

  • Brunch 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. (Garvey Commons)
  • Pictures with SCSU Mascot "Blizzard"
  • Get a temporary Husky Tatoo
  • Get a custom temporary tatoo
  • Have a caricature drawn
  • Get a balloon animal made
  • Stuff your own "Stuff-A-Husky"
  • Visit the Husky Bookstore (10a.m. - 4p.m.)
  • Take a walk around campus
  • Visit the Atwood Gallery
  • Walk along the Beaver Island Trail or Riverwalk
  • Plus, much more!

9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Fitness Center Open (located next to Halenbeck Hall) - brought to you by Campus Recreation

10:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m. - Instrument Show and Tell and Family Kazoo Band Workshop (Lindgren Child Care Center Playground) brought to you by the Lindgren Child Care Center and the Husky Sports Band.

10:00 a.m - 1:00 p.m. - Flight Simulator - Headley Hall

10:30 a.m - 1:00 p.m. - Brunch- Garvey Commons (ticket needed)

11 a.m. - SCSU Planetarium Showing* - Robert H. Wick Science Building (ticket needed)

Honors Coffeehouse (first-floor lounge of Centennial Hall)
sponsored by the Honors Program (OPEN to all students)

Movie Showing "UP": Atwood Memorial Center Theatre, St. Cloud State University

3:30 p.m. - Reception with refreshments (Ritsche Auditorium Lobby) Visit with the SCSU Student Government President, SCSU Provost and SCSU Vice President for Student Life and Development


4 p.m. - Family Friendly Comedy Show and University Welcome featuring: Ryan Hamilton SCSU Provost Dr. Malhotra in Ritsche Auditorium

5 p.m - 7 p.m. - Dinner- Discounts at local restaurants: list will be available soon. Check back for more information!

7:07 p.m. - Women's Hockey vs. Team USA (Exhibition Game) - National Hockey Center - FAMILY WEEKEND BADGE REQUIRED FOR FREE ADMISSION

Sunday is a day for you to spend as a family. Please take advantage of all of the great activities and locations that St. Cloud and central Minnesota have to offer! Below we have some options of activities for you to participate in, just in case you are unsure about what to do!  You can also go to the St. Cloud Visitors website at http://www.granitecountry.com/

Cost of the Brunch is as follows:
Children 4 and under: FREE
Children 5-12 years of age: $3.75
Persons 13 and above: $7.10
