Registration Fee

Family Weekend General InformationIn order to defray some of the costs the university incurs in offering Family Weekend, a fee of $15.00 is charged for each individual attending (SCSU students are free). This registration fee covers your attendance at all events unless otherwise indicated, including the Welcome from the SCSU Provost Dr. Malhotra, followed by family friendly comedian Ryan Hamilton, food and refreshments, use of the campus facilities, intercollegiate athletic events, and on-campus parking (excluding 4th Ave. Parking Ramp). If your student is not on a meal plan, brunch on Saturday will be provided. Reservation requests that reach the University Program Board department by September 22, 2009 will be confirmed via e-mail.

Children 4 and under are FREE and DO NOT require registration but PLEASE note that when registering!

•Brunch on Saturday (Garvey Commons)

•Admission to a variety of weekend-long events
Including: SCSU planetarium showings (limited seating available on a first come, first serve basis), movie showings, radio station (KVSC) tours, and television station (UTVS) tours, flight simulator demonstrations, and MUCH more!

•Women's Soccer game vs. Southwest Minnesota State University (Husky Stadium) - No Ticket Required *See Below

*Free Admission for SCSU students and families. No Ticket Required for either event. However, you must present your Family Weekend badge for FREE Admission!

Ticket Information

Tickets are required for admission to events as indicated in the "Family Weekend Schedule" section. There may be additional charges for the events indicated; please refer to the Registration page for details. Seating capacity is limited for these events. Reservations are based on the online submission date. Please be sure to indicate your preference for ticketed events on the reservation form. Do not forget to order tickets for your SCSU student for all ticketed events they plan to attend.

Registration Packets

Registration materials, including tickets, nametags and a full schedule of all weekend events and their locations, will be available at the registration area for pickup upon arrival.

Refunds for Cancellations

This reservation is not subject to any refund and shall bear no cash value. No refunds, no exchanges except as provided herein, event date & time subject to change. All rights reserved. St. Cloud State University reserves the right, without refund of any portion of the ticket price, to refuse admission or eject any person whose conduct is deemed disorderly or fails to comply with the terms and conditions contained herein.

Parking

Parking passes are not required for the weekend. All lots are open to the public. However, if you choose to park in the new 4th Avenue Parking Ramp, there will be a $1 per hour/$8 per day charge. Since emergency vehicles must have immediate access to campus buildings at all times, please do not park in marked fire lanes or loading areas. For safety reasons, the university must strictly enforce its policy of towing cars parked in these zones. Towing will be at the owner's expense. Parking will be available in L-Lot (located right across the street from Atwood Memorial Center and next to Garvey Commons) and B-Lot (located between Garvey Commons and Benton Hall). Lots will be open for families to use. CAUTION: there is a limited amount of spaces and they will be given out on a first come, first serve basis.

Dining

Registration includes a brunch on Saturday Sept. 26, from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. in Garvey Commons. All other meals are on your own. Present your Family Weekend name badge for meal discounts at local restaurants throughout the weekend. For a detailed list of dining options available, please visit area restaurants .

Lodging

Our featured hotel:

Homewood Suites. Located near many of the discounted local restaurants throughout the weekend. Newly opened this month and offering a great Family Weekend discount. To make a reservation, call 320-252-5900, and ask for Nicole Fiksdal.*The number of suites are limited so be sure to make your reservation soon!*

Best Western Kelly Inn. Located about 6 blocks from campus. To make a reservation, call 320-253-0606, indicate that you are reserving a room for SCSU Family Weekend.
*There are a limited amount of rooms available but the rates will begin at $89.00 + tax. Depending on what is available, the cost is subject to change*

.Radisson Suite Hotel St. Cloud. Located in downtown St. Cloud, approximately 7 blocks from campus, this suite hotel offers many amenities like basic cable TV, Microwave, Refrigerator, Data Port, Complimentary Internet, Iron and Ironing Board in all rooms. 
Options for rooms include:
Oversized Queen Suite with a Queen sized Sleep Number Bed and a large living space

Master Double Suite has 2 Double sized Sleep Number Bed, or a King Sized Sleep Number Bed, and a separate living space. 

The special rate for this hotel is $99.00 + tax per night.

Located approximately 2 miles from campus on the East side of the Mississippi River. We offer discounted SCSU Rates all year long. Be sure to mention that you are visiting SCSU when booking your reservation.

Grandstay Suites Hotel. Located about 5 blocks from campus. The cost is $79.90 +tax per night. To make a reservation, call 320-251-5400 and indicate that you are reserving a room for SCSU Family Weekend to receive the discounted rate.

Smoking

All on campus living areas, including student rooms, are smoke-free environments. Smoking is not permitted in any university academic and administrative buildings. Students and guests are expected to place cigarette butts in the receptacles provided in various areas outside.

Alcoholic Beverages

St. Cloud State University does not consider the use of alcoholic beverages by students necessary to the process of higher education. While students who are of legal drinking age under the laws of Minnesota may consume alcoholic beverages off campus, all students are reminded that their behavior must be appropriate. SCSU prohibits the use, possession or distribution of any controlled substance or drugs and/or drug paraphernalia on university premises; and prohibits the use, possession or distribution of alcohol on university premises. It is the policy of the university that students who possess or consume alcoholic beverages on state property will be subject to university disciplinary action and may be subject to criminal prosecution.
