Committees

UPB is currently comprised of 9 programming committees and one promotional committee, all of which are open to any SCSU student! If you are interested in joining or helping with an event, click on the committee name and then contact the coordinator. It's easy to get involved... just show up at our meetings and give us your input and your time! Click on the committee names below for more information about the committee and their upcoming events.

Atwood After Dark

Responsible for programming the late night, weekend program, "Atwood After Dark."

Concerts

Responsible for programming a variety of nationally known acts.

Films

Responsible for scheduling weekly film series shown for free in the Atwood Theatre.

Live at the Quarry

Responsible for programming events showcasing student talent and a wide variety of genres and performers.

Mississippi Music Fest

Responsible for planning and coordinating the annual day long, spring festival with a variety of music, food, crafts and other social activities. Also responsible for "Battle of the Unsigned Bands" contest.

National Events

Responsible for programming a diverse schedule of nationally and internationally recognized speakers.

Performing Arts

Responsible for programming a variety of dance, theatre, music, and spoken word events with the goal of providing educational, diverse, and entertaining performances.

Public Relations

This committee aims to actively and creatively promote all UPB events through information kiosks, posters, display cases and many other methods.

Special Events

Responsible for programming a diverse schedule of activities and events including SCSU Homecoming Week and SCSU Family Weekend.

Visual Arts

Responsible for curating art exhibits in the Atwood Art Gallery and the Atwood Ballroom Display Cases.

Executive Board

The Executive Board is comprised of the President and three Vice Presidents responsible for the overall function of the organization.

Summer Programming

UPB plans several events and activities for SCSU students during the summer months. The Lemonade Concert and Art Fair is a large-scale annual event that happens in June.
