Licensing
All uses of the university name in any format, and the university's wordmark, seal, logos and mascots are covered by federal trademark laws. Their unauthorized use is a violation of federal law and could result in confiscation of the illegally produced materials.
St. Cloud State University has licensed the commercial use of its name, wordmark, seal, logos and mascots through the Collegiate Licensing Company, a national organization that represents universities and colleges nationwide. Licensing helps the university protect the use of logos, marks, and verbiage and helps St. Cloud State share in the profits made on the commercial use thereof. St. Cloud State's name, wordmark, seal, logos, mascots and other graphic representations of St. Cloud State are covered and protected by this licensing agreement.
All university organizations and departments are required to use the following guidelines when purchasing or producing items bearing university identification. These specialty items may include, but are not limited to, t-shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, coffee mugs, caps and portfolios.
