U-Choose-A-Palooza

This year, St. Cloud State University students will discover a new Kick-Off event. Leadership from Delta Zeta Sorority & Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity sought a way to help prevent alcohol related deaths and negative consequences from high risk drinking. The students wanted to create a fun interactive event with the University's cutting edge alcohol prevention program, U-Choose. New and returning students will interact with over a dozen different stations that have a fun interactive side coupled with a U-Choose prevention message at U-Choose-A-Palooza. Students will play video games with “drunk goggles” to demonstrate alcohol related impairments. They will have a chance to interact with St. Cloud Police Officers and participate in mock sobriety tests and take a ride in a rollover simulator. The first students to complete e-CHUG, found on the U-Choose website, will be able to “stuff a husky.” There will also be music, food, and pictures with Blizzard during the event.

We welcome to campus Brian Zachau, of Liquid Motion, a world record holding flair bartender. who will pour mocktails during the event. Students will have a chance to win a Nintendo Wii & Wii Fit at the grand prize drawing.
The event will take place during Kick-Off Week on August 26th, 5-8pm, on the Atwood Center
mall.

A nationally-renowned speaker, Harlan Cohen, will then take the stage at 9 pm. to discuss “The
Naked Roommate: And Everything Else You Might Run Into in College”.

UPDATE: Harlan Cohen will be available at U-Choose-A-Palooza from 6:30pm until 7:30pm to meet students and sign books.
