Holdingford claims to be the Gateway to Lake Wobegon, "Where all the women are
strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average." The town is
known for their Lake Wobegon trail, which is located in the picture. The first school was built
in 1872 and the first teacher was Standford A. Blood. Currently, Holdingford has two schools
consisting of 1,033 students.
Holdingford School District, John Haas
Superintendent John Haas graduated from the University of Minnesota Morris with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and continued on to get his Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from St. Cloud State University. He worked as an Elementary Teacher for the Little Falls School District from 1976-1992. He worked as a Math Teacher for the Little Falls School District from 1992-2002 and then went on to work as an Elementary Principal for Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City from 2002-2006. Superintendent Haas is currently the Superintendent for the Holdingford School District and has been there since 2006.
