Teacher Candidates: What can I expect?

You will be better prepared for the job market by being an effective educator

  • You will gain necessary 21st Century knowledge and skills to work with diverse populations of students and families.
  • You will gain knowledge and skills to teach to the Whole Child.
  • You will experience the Co-Teaching Model of student teaching.
  • Students in your classroom will attain at least one year of academic growth for one year of instruction.
  • You will receive up to 3 years of support after you graduate including targeted professional development both from your school district and from St. Cloud State University.

The Teacher Preparation Initiative will strengthen St. Cloud State University's teacher preparation programs through a strong, active partnership with Arts and Science faculty, Education faculty and P-12 school districts.
