The focus of this TLTR was to begin a review of the existing Technology Master Plan to see where changes are needed.   This first review was mostly to get a feel for the current plan and the changes that might be necessary.

Looking at sec. 3.0 (p. 6-7) it was noted that while electronic technology was covered other technology was not covered well.  This includes discipline specific technology.  Questions were raised regarding who should address this and how it should be included in the new plan.

Reviewing sec 5.0 (p.9-12):  Kristi noted that initial efforts to establish committees failed due to lack of people willing to serve on needed committees.

Under section 5.1 (Planning Alignment, p.13) it was suggested that goals include some forward looking element addressing innovation.

A discussion ensued regarding the processes to be followed in this evaluation.  Kristi indicated that her intent was to look at goal accomplishment, identify any easy changes that could be done quickly and assign larger change elements to small groups to work on revisions.

It was decided that the next meeting should address sections 5.18 (network connectivity) and 5.19 (Bandwidth) in order to get a better feel for the process to be followed.  The next meeting will also include a review of Vista.

The next meeting will be on 11/30 if Kristi is available.  Otherwise it will be on 12/7.  {The meeting will be on December 7th – KT}
