Appendix 14: The Role of the TLTR at SCSU in the Future
This TLTR document is part of strategic planning for SCSU. Just as strategic
planning is a continual process, planning for technology use requires a mechanism
for updating and refining any document like this to keep it current and useful.
The TLTR -- the Teaching, Learning and Technology Roundtable itself -- will
be that mechanism.
The TLTR will continue to meet to assess and evaluate the proposed technology
plan. As in the past, it will be composed of representatives from the various
constituencies on campus (e.g., students, faculty, staff and administrators).
The TLTR will inform the Strategic Planning Committee and make recommendations
to Academic Affairs.
The functions of the TLTR will be to
- review the progress of the implementation of the various aspects of the
plan
- review and comment on unit or departmental goals for technology
- review
and comment on unit or departmental uses for technology
- discuss and make
recommendations about any changes to the technology plan based on changes
in technology
- discuss and make recommendations about any changes to the
technology plan based on changes in strategic planning
- discuss and make
recommendations about any changes to the technology plan based on assessment
of technology effectiveness
- disseminate information about the use of technology
at SCSU to the campus community and the external community as well as to
the Minnesota State Universities
and Colleges (MnSCU) office
- encourage further discussion on the future implications
of technology in higher
education and in the success of our graduates
