Jennifer Tuder holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from the University of Northern Iowa, a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from Arizona State University, and a Ph.D in Speech Communication with an emphasis in Performance Studies from Southern Illinois University.
In the Department of Theatre & Film Studies, Tuder teaches Acting for Everyone and has taught Theatre Appreciation. In the Communication Studies Department, she teaches Performance and Everyday Life, Performance and Literature, and Contemporary Issues in Performance Studies in addition to Introduction to Communication Studies.
Tuder has directed Dinner With Friends for the Theatre program and is the director of the Players Performance Group for the Communication Studies Department. She has also presented her original solo performance Sex Across the Curriculum at the 2007 Minnesota Fringe Festival. Tuder’s research interests include performance epistemology, performances of gender and sexuality, performances of grief and loss, performance art, and performative writing.
