In a former life, Jane Victor was married, raised 2 daughters, Jenny and Katy, and was co-owner of a number of companies in the Central Minnesota area. In these companies, she did payroll, accounts receivable, human resources and other work that owners do. She even drove a limousine and a cab on occasion.

After her daughters were in college, Jane returned to SCSU and received her Bachelor of Elective Studies, emphasis on Theatre Costuming. Jane went on to graduate school at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champagne. Jane received a tuition waiver and teaching assistantship for the full 3 years. Her Master of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre Costume Technology helped her become the Costume Shop Supervisor at The Glimmerglass Opera Company in upstate New York and at the University of Evansville, in Evansville, Indiana. Her favorite part of the Evansville job was teaching all of the theatre students how to sew and help in the shop.

In 2002, Jane returned to Minnesota to be closer to her daughters and their families, which now include Jenny’s and Nels’ daughters, Elle and Kate, and Katy’s and Shawn’s daughter Libby and son, Calvin. Jane owns a 1950’s house in Roseville and travels to and from her home each week.

Also, at this time, Jane started her own company, JaneMarie Designs, which showcases all of her sewing, tailoring and design talents. She has designed an alternative for the adult bib, called a Dining Dickie. See her web site at diningdickie.com.

In her life, Jane moved 22 times, excluding the months spent on the road with her husband’s band. Jane is now the Costume Studio Director for the Department of Theatre, Film Studies and Dance at SCSU this semester.
