Life On the Outside
We've heard from quite a few of our graduates lately, including Michael Hable, who is a teaching assistant in the Screenwriting MFA program at Boston University. Closer to home, Ryan Buonamia is employed as a digital video editor at St. Cloud's DMR Productions. Ryan recently joined with Beth Olson and Erin Kolodznie Clemens, also past students of ours, to establish a student scholarship here at their alma mater. A few of our alums are helping students in another way, through careers in Student Life, including MaryBeth McConnell Thompson, who is Associate Director of Residential Life at the College of St. Benedict, and Joe Hazelton who lords over a residence hall at the U of M. We hear Shawn Lewis is thriving at Central Minnesota's creative nexus, QuarterTon Productions. Rumor has it Mickey Uzendowski is a busy editor at the Twin Cities production house, Drive Thru. In one of his emails from "the other side of the world," K.K. Yeo reveals that he interviewed Hassan Abd Muthalib, a pioneering animator in the Malaysian film industry. K.K. divides his time between Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong while he plugs away on his own animated opus. Finally, Lucas Stensland tells us he was in Paris flipping through a new book on director Robert Altman when he found his own SCSU senior thesis on Altman listed in the book's "etudes critiques" section!
