PRAXIS I EXAMS (PPST – Pre-Professional Skills Test): Computer-based and Paper-basedThe Praxis Series assessments provide educational tests and other services that states use as part of their teaching licensing certification process. The Praxis I tests, Pre-Professional Skills Tests (PPST®), are designed to measure basic skills in reading, writing and mathematics. Colleges and universities may use Praxis I: Pre-Professional Skills Tests to evaluate individuals for entry into teacher education programs. The assessments are generally taken early in your college career.
The Praxis I computer-based exam is given during the majority of the Testing Center’s open hours. You may register to test at the Atwood Testing Center the following ways with a credit card:
If you cannot pay by credit card, download and complete a copy of the CBT Authorization Voucher Request Form (PDF) for Praxis I computer based tests and mail with the appropriate fees to the address listed on the form. Detailed instructions for this are on the Praxis Web site listed below.
For paper-based Praxis testing, candidates must register directly through the specific testing company, not the Atwood Testing Center. In order to take the exam at the Atwood Testing Center, candidates can register with a credit card in the following way:
