GRE (Graduate Record Exam) GENERAL TEST:  Computer-based

The Graduate Record Examinations® (GRE®) General Test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are not related to any specific field of study.


Fees and Registration
The fee for the GRE General Test is $160.

The GRE General Test is given during the majority of the Testing Center’s open hours.  You may register to test at the Atwood Testing Center the following ways with a credit card:

  • By calling the Testing Center directly at (320) 308-5456
  • By calling GRE at 1-800-GRE-CALL (1-800-473-2255)
  • By going to the GRE Web site below and registering on-line

You may register with a check or money order by coming to the Testing Center during the regularly scheduled hours listed or by mailing your check to the Testing Center, indicating that you want to register for the test, and then calling to register over the phone.  You may also send your check to GRE and get a voucher number to register.  Instructions for this process are listed on the GRE Web site.
