5. Using Learning Assistants to Enhance Student Achievement in Large Classes

This FLC is led by Sonja Goerdt, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics. The members comprise faculty in mathematics, chemistry, statistics and biology.  The members who have implemented the use of Learning Assistants have gathered impressive assessment data to show the effectiveness of the learning assistants on the DWF rate in their courses in introductory science and mathematics classes.  They are also interested in studying the impact of the experience on the learning assistants as well.
