SCSU's 3rd Annual Technology for Teaching and Learning (T4TL) Summer Institute

When: Thursday, May 14 ­ & Friday, May 15, 2015, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

Where: SCSU Miller Center, Atwood Memorial Center and Centennial Hall

This year's session themes include community building through technology, course design and QM rubrics training, student use of technology, implications of “Bring Your Own (Appropriate) Device,”along with numerous hands-on technology sessions including an open-lab for 1-on-1 academic technology support.

Keynotes include:

-A Student panel featuring students from Sauk Rapids Middle School and students from SCSU.

-Faculty panel on new program development and innovation through technology.

The Applying the Quality Matters Rubric workshop and follow up Working Lab sessions are an integral strand of the Summer Institute.

Participants have:

  • Learned seven principles of undergraduate education,
  • Examined several technology tools (including various features of D2L) at “low tech” and a “high tech” levels, and
  • Worked individually and in groups with Dr. Truong and the SCSU D2L Team to apply one or more of the above principles and tools to the design of one course each.
  • Successfully advanced their use of instructional technology to the next level.
