New Faculty Workshop Archive - Spring 2002
Faculty Center for Teaching Excellence Miller Center 310, 308-5282
Spring 2002 New Faculty Workshops are held in MC-17 unless otherwise noted. The semester is almost finished. We have only a few more sessions for us to get together before final exams and the end of the semester‹and the end of your first year here at SCSU. Even a few second-year faculty have found the workshops quite useful.

Needs to Know"
Presenter is Susan Motin, copyright coordinator in LR&TS.
Feb. 13 -- "Travel Ins and Outs"
A discussion of travel tips for faculty - including getting plane
reservations, prepaying conference registration fees, requesting
travel advances, completing travel reimbursement forms, and completing
the "Work Revision Form" so you can meet your professional
obligations with efficiency rather than frustration.
Feb. 25 -- "Project Managment - Big and Small"
Presenter is Jeanne Hites, professor in the Center for Information
Media. Jeanne teaches project management and has experience with
multi-tasking both with AT&T and with her many projects here
at SCSU.
Mar. 27 -- "An Administrative Thank You"
Lin Holder (Assoc. VPAA) and Ruth Meyer (VPAA)
Ruth and Lin reiterate SCSU's appreciation for you being here at
our institution and the tremendous value that is placed on your presence
and work here. Both have been faculty members for a number of years
and know some of your frustrations as well as your rewards. (MC-17)
Apr. 10 -- "IMS Can Help With Technology Assistance"
Mary Shrode, Sara Grachek, and Mark Monn from LR&TS tell you
about the services they provide and the assistance they can give
you as you work on designing new courses or revising the ones you
just finished teaching. They can help you with PowerPoint presentations,
overheads, and / or web pages. This might be a great opportunity
to see what can be done over summer to get you ready for Fall 2002.
(MC-17)

Judith Litterst, professor in the Communication Studies Department
at SCSU. Judy has conducted anumber of workshops on time management

closes out the semester's series. Deans and otheradministrators
will be invited to attend. We'll talk among ourselves, visit with
