New Faculty Workshop Archive - Fall 2001
To all new faculty: Last January President Saigo requested the Faculty Center for Teaching Excellence (FCTE) to determine a process to help you assimilate into your new role as a faculty member at SCSU. As you become a member of the St. Cloud State University Community, you have access to resources and information to help you in this process. Goal: Package your RPT package to best reflect
your work here at SCSU. Learn how to make your packet clear, concise,
easy to read and understand. Learn to "put your best foot forward" in
this process.
Date: Sept. 26 "Services Available in LR&TS"

Salela, LR&TS.
Goal: Members of the LR&TS reference team
share information about how you access information to support your
teaching as well as other academic interests using SCSU¹s
new library capabilities and services available through LR&TS.

Facilitator: Brenda Wentworth, Director of Assessment.
Goal: Learn about assessment and the SCSU commitment
to program assessment and where you fit in to the picture.
Date: Oct. 24 "The Scholarship of Teaching"

Facilitator: Joane McKay, Dean, College of Education.
Goal: The Scholarship of Teaching is being emphasized
at SCSU. Hear about SCSU's commitment and what it means to you.
Date: Nov. 14 "Evaluations: Asking for What You
Want"
Location: MC - 18
Facilitators: Beverly Stadum, Social Work Patricia
Hauslein, Biological Science.
Goal: Design student/classroom evaluations to
get the information you want and need.
Date: Nov. 28 "Working Together st SCSU: Its History,
Its Potential"
Location: MC - 18
Facilitator: Rex Veeder, Assistant to the President
for Special Projects.
Goal: See how SCSU's history has evolved and what
the challenges and potentials are to working together‹internal
and external. Hear discussed some international opportunities for
working together as well as how SCSU has handled racism with its
course requirements.
Date: Dec. 12 "Grants: What's Available and Who
Can Help You"

Goal: There's help for you through OSP as you
try to locate, plan, apply for, and administer grants.
