Faculty are frequently approached by students with concerns that can seem overwhelming to both the professor and the student.  These can include difficulties adjusting to college life, depression and loss of energy or motivation, intense worry and anxiety, difficulties in family life, relationship problems, changes in self-confidence and performance, and questions about direction and identity.  This talk will address how to respond to and find resources for students who show up in your office in distress.

Copyright and Fair Use Workshop - MC-218

Use of copyrighted materials in instruction and research can be challenging. Find out the myths, urban legends and then the truth!  It is vital for faculty to know and understand such terms as fair use, educational, not for profit, spontaneity, and use of proportions of a variety of formats so that we can make informed decisions about copyright issues.

This workshop will be led by Dr. Larry Kelley.  Dr. Kelley has been actively involved in educational assessment for 20 years.  Since fall 2002, he has conducted over 50 professional development workshops on course embedded assessment at institutions around the continental United States and in Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
