Students are required to have medical insurance and the International Student Identification Card (the ISIC card is supplied by the SCSU Study Abroad Office).

Travel Insurance

We encourage students to have travel insurance in case they are ill at the time of travel or there is a death in the family and they are not able to participate at the time of travel. Please read all travel insurance policies carefully as they do not work in cases of students changing their minds and do not work in cases of epidemics, natural disasters, war, or other circumstances that seem like the policy should work. READ the fine print for exclusions before purchase. Go online and search for travel insurance to compare policies.

Home Owner's Insurance

Also check with your home owner’s policy to see about item coverage such as stolen or lost items. The best way to be prepared is to check into it prior to your student leaving.
