Memories of Alnwick

Alnwick was a fairy tale time. We were taken care of –
fed, taught, housed (were we ever!), but yet had great freedom.
I visited nine countries, met people I visit to this day,
and I can still name all the wives of Henry the VIII.
I have enclosed two photos. The first was a wonderful trip
to Paris with Dave, Wayne, and Katie. We though we could
just show up there, at night with little money and no reservations,
and speaking no French. Turns out, we could. Strangers helped
us to a hotel we could afford, and different strangers took
us sightseeing on two different days.
The other photo is of Dr. (Wayland) Ezell, his wife and
daughter Beth during Alnwick Fair. It was taken in “our
yard” at the castle. I still get chills just looking
at that castle!
