Memories of Alnwick
Nancy Hellander Pung ’90, Robbinsdale, Minn., Alnwick
1987
I have so many wonderful memories of Alnwick, it's impossible
to pick one so here are a few: A bunch of us rented a van
and drove to London to see U2, Neil Young and the Pogues
at Wembley Stadium; Steve Klepetar's British Romantics Literature
class; Christine's fencing class; eating shortbread at Marjorie's
house; looking at the "Great Wind Sill" with Gary
(the geology professor); and my wonderful homestay mother,
Eunice Anderson, who shared her lovely region with me, along
with her love of nature and flowers. The Alnwick study abroad
program also taught me the importance of living simply.
I'll never forget how freeing and exhilarating it was to
be able to carry all of my life's possessions on my back!
Thanks for the opportunity to relive some wonderful memories
of that time almost 20 years ago! Gasp!
