Memories of Alnwick

Carleen Sorteberg Peterson ’85, Montevideo, Minn., Alnwick spring 1984

Carleen Sorteberg PetersonAttending school in Alnwick through SCSU was my most memorable experience during college. The classroom experiences were fascinating – especially British History as explained by Christine Mitchell, and just looking out the window! I had many incredible life experiences while traveling throughout Great Britain and Europe. Many times I have looked back at these experiences, which gave me a window to the world, and a much broader experience base. It was very sad to leave, and I didn’t know if I would ever see Alnwick again. In 1991, my husband (who I met at SCSU, the fall quarter I returned from Alnwick) and I traveled to Europre for three weeks, with the last week in England. We visited friends in Wales, my homestay family in Berwick, and three nights at the Castle. We celebrated our third anniversary at the Castle! I still keep in touch with friends Mike and Mavis Ramshaw, that I met with a friend while we were on a boat ride to the Farne Islands!
