Memories of Alnwick

I attended Alnwick with the Spring/Summer program in 1994.
While I wouldn't say I have much of a story, I remember
my time in Alnwick with great fondness. I shared a room
with a woman who I became very close friends with (Lisa
Virden). We enjoyed many great meals and hikes around Northumberland
with our homestay family. Kate and Graham Bloodworth were
so welcoming to Lisa and me. They ensured we saw the great
sights of the area and provided us with a glimpse of typical
daily living in Alnwick. We enjoyed a wonderful home cooked
meal with them each Sunday during our stay; this became
a very special time as we started to miss our own homes.
Lisa went on to marry a man she met in Alnwick (Martin
Coleman). They are living in Minnesota today and our families
are very close. It's been very special to have the memory
of our time in England revisited regularly as we watch our
little boys play together! I have hopes of returning to
the castle with the Colemans some day!
