Many federal, state, and university financial aid programs are available to assist St. Cloud State University students. This includes grants, loans, scholarships, and employment. Eligibility for many of the programs is based on financial need. However, there are several loans and scholarships that are not need-based. Students must apply for financial aid each academic year by completing two forms: 1) the Free Application for Federal Student Aid; and 2) the SCSU application for aid. These forms are available in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, 106 Administrative Services Bldg. Specific information and application materials regarding all federal, state, and institutional aid programs are available in the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.
All students receiving financial aid are required to maintain satisfactory academic progress as it is defined by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. The satisfactory academic progress policy has three major factors that are taken into account in determining a student's standing.
- A minimum percentage of SCSU credits earned based on the total number of SCSU credits attempted;
- A minimum grade point average requirement;
- A maximum number of credits attempted.
Contact the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid for a copy of the entire satisfactory academic progress policy. The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid is located in 106 Administrative Services Bldg., phone: 308-2047, e-mail: financialaid@stcloudstate.edu.
