The Sports Facilities and Campus Recreation Department motto is we provide "Something for Everyone." With the wide variety of programs offered to the SCSU student in the areas of Intramurals, Fitness, Aquatics, Outdoor programming, Sport Clubs and Informal recreation it is a motto that the department feels they live up too. The department conducts over 100 different types of activities throughout the year for student participation. It also is one of the largest student employers on campus and provides a wide variety of internship and practicum opportunities for students to demonstrate and develop their academic talents.
The department is also responsible for the administration of the University's sport facilities. Halenbeck Hall, Eastman Hall, and the National Hockey Center are outstanding facilities for student use and this year marks the GRAND OPENING of the new Husky Stadium and Student Recreation Center with a state-of-the-art fitness center, rock climbing wall and seasonal domed multi-purpose stadium.
