Faculty Research Group on Immigrant Workers in Minnesota

Welcome

We are a group of faculty who collaborate with community based organizations on developing data of use to community and academics on the social conditions of immigrant workers in Minnesota and their communities.  Our scope does not preclude research that extends beyond the scope of Minnesota, since plainly issues of why immigrant workers migrate to Minnesota and experience their respective social conditions are shaped by institutions and processes that are global in character. The Research Group is supported by the
College of LIberal Arts and the School of Public Affairs

The Research Group won Best Community Initiative Award
at the spring 2012 SCSU Community Engagement Fair. And
Research Group Director Stephen Philion recently won the prestigious
National Campus Compact Thomas Erlich Community Engaged Faculty
Finalist Award
.
