In order to be eligible for the poster or paper presentation competition at the 2008 Student Research Colloquium (SRC), students need to “opt in.”
“Opt-In” Requirements
- Download from the Web site or pick up from the Office of Sponsored Programs (AS 210) the Student Research Colloquium Competition “Opt In” Form
- Give a five-minute presentation to a St. Cloud State University class or organization about the benefits of participating in or attending the SRC. Include information on the SRC itself, the poster and paper presentation competition prizes, and the “passport” prize incentives for attendance. Passport information is included below. Search this Web site for other details.
- Have a faculty member witness the presentation
- Have the faculty member sign off on the Opt In form
- Return the form to the Office of Sponsored Programs by March 6, 2008.
- Submit your own fully stamped passport to the registration desk on April 22 prior to the evening awards ceremony. A fully stamped passport requires attendance at six events during the day and enters you into the drawing for a $25 bookstore gift card!
- Students nominated for awards are expected to be present with their faculty sponsor at the awards ceremony on April 22 from 7-8 p.m.
Passport information to include in your five-minute presentation (passports available at SRC):

- Receive a "passport" when you pick up your SRC program
- Have your passport stamped at each presentation you attend
- Six stamps will "fill" your passport
- Present your filled (or nearly filled) passport at the registration table prior to the evening awards ceremony to become eligible for gift certificates to the bookstore worth up to $25 with a total of $400 to be given away
- The more “stamps” in your passport, the better your chances of winning
- Your passport may also earn class credit so check with your instructors
