Graduate Certificate Programs
St. Cloud State's Special Education Department offers Graduate Certificate programs that lead to Minnesota teacher licensure in Learning Disabilities, Emotional/Behavioral Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, and Physical/Health Disabilities. In all four cases, prerequisite courses exist that must be taken or transferred by a special education advisor prior to the student enrolling in methods or practicum (the graduate equivalent of student teaching). The prerequisite courses will vary by whether or not the candidate already holds a valid Minnesota teaching license so it is vital that students receive advisement early in the process. Students must be fully admitted to the School of Graduate Studies prior to enrolling in Methods or Practicum courses.
Graduate applications are available in the Department of Special Education Office (A-211), in the office of the School of Graduate Studies (Administration Building 121), or online.
