Partnership Annual Report 1999-2000

The Center for Applied Research in Education (CARE) has been involved with many COE Partnership Activities during 1999-2000. Partnering with schools, families, and community is now an important requirement of teacher preparation programs. Below is a summary of the various types of partnership activities that the COE was involved with.

Many of the partnership activities begun in 1998-1999 represent continuing efforts to enhance existing partnerships. There are also some exciting new partnership activities. Some of these activities have had external funding, but most have not. Most of these partnerships will be continued into future years and it is anticipated that new partnerships between the College of Education and Mn schools and communities will be added each year. The present list represents a general summary of the kinds of activities that are considered “partnerships.” This information was obtained from department chairpersons and on a voluntary basis from individual faculty.
