COE Global Education Week

Presentations, Workshops, Seminars . The week of March 3-8, 2003 was selected as a time that students and faculty within the College of Education would focus on Global Education efforts. For this first year, the task force issued an open invitation asking all departments and each faculty to provide opportunities for COE students to learn more about global education.

The following college-wide events were scheduled:

“Holding Up Half the Sky: Honoring Women of Color” Atwood Little Theater

 

International Speakers in Classes Faculty were encouraged to have international faculty and/or students as guests in their education classes anytime during the spring term, but particularly during Global Education week.

Fifteen faculty from 7 departments reported that they had invited international speakers during their regular class times. In addition, there were approximately 12 presentations to classes by the Moldovan exchange faculty during spring term.

Community Efforts The Human Relations Department deserves special recognition for their efforts during global education week. In addition to conducting numerous campus teach-ins that addressed global concerns, they also sponsored several workshops. They also expanded their efforts to provide a series of activities that were held in St. Cloud South Junior High.
