Reading and Math Camp
In collaboration with the Sauk Rapids Rice School District, the Department
of Special Education at St. Cloud State University conducts a large remedial
summer program in reading, writing, and math with over 200 children in
grades K-8. Approximately 40 graduate students who are completing
Minnesota teaching licensure in learning disabilities develop and implement
research- and data-based academic interventions, supervised by five St.
Cloud State faculty members and three principals. Results consistently
demonstrate improvement in children’s basic academic skills. Parents,
cooperating teachers, graduate students, and the children consistently
report high levels of satisfaction with the Reading and Math Camp.
