Community Options II, a partnership between the Special Education Department, the School of Education, and St. Cloud School District to provide services to 18-21-year old young adults with developmental disabilities in an age-appropriate environment. Students in the program are involved in learning vocational, community, and social skills that will enhance their ability to live successfully in the community and be productive citizens. The program allows teacher candidates in special education to work directly with the students as they participate in courses, campus jobs, and recreational activities in an integrated environment. Steve Howe-Veenstra, teacher in the St. Cloud Schools and Patty Waletzko, Assistant Professor in the Special Education Department work together on this initiative.
