Intake Social Worker

I have worked at Wright County since April 2003.  Prior to working as an intake social worker I was a co-located social worker working both at the county and in the schools.

As an intake social worker, I take calls and meet with clients dealing with a variety of personal, social, and economical difficulties. I complete all the intakes for children’s mental health, adult mental health, developmental disabilities, and mediation.  In this position I serve as the common entry point, processing all vulnerable adult reports for the agency.  I also take all physicians’ hold orders in support of commitment, and all licensing complaints.

Previous employment:

Direct Care Staff/counselor at  KIDS House, Therapeutic Foster Care Home for Girls, in Becker MN.

Program Coordinator at the Youth Resiliency Program (Lutheran Social Services) in Sauk Rapids MN- Coordination of daily events in a program for high risk. Facilitation of daily groups with youth.  Facilitation of meeting with youth, their family, and all other professional working with the individual.

Youth advocate for Youth Resiliency Program (Lutheran Social Services) in Sherburne County Schools.  Truancy prevention.  Facilitation of daily groups to deal with the underlying issues leading to truancy.

I have a major in Sociology with double minors in Criminal Justice and Human Relations. For the job I am in, I feel very competent with the schooling I received.
