The social work curriculum at SCSU flows from the mission and is consistent with the accreditation standards of the Council on Social Work Education
Social Work Program Curriculum
The academic classroom component of the curriculum contains pre-professional core classes taken in other departments (biology, human relations, applied psychology or psychology, statistics, and sociology), and social work major courses. The final semester is devoted to practice under the supervision of a social worker with a BSW/MSW.

| All students must complete SW 195 and all pre-professional core courses before proceeding with the upper division Social Work major sequence. Students are encouraged to take SW 216 early in their academic career. Students apply for admission to the major first semester of their junior year. | |||
