RESOURCES FOR SOCIAL WORK STUDENTS
Suggestions, Advice & Answers
When you first inform the SCSU Registrar's Office that you
are interested in Social Work as a potential major, you are
assigned a faculty person in the Department as your academic
advisor. At the time of your formal application to the major,
another faculty person may replace the first one as advisor.
However, until you graduate, you have the right to advice
and assistance from any assigned faculty person within the
Department.
Introduce yourself to this person and then feel free to see
him/her when you have questions or problems. In addition,
a number of other people on campus and in the Social Work
Department are also available to help you plan your courses,
consider post graduate plans, and think through a variety
of issues or problems that may occur.
This sheet is intended to help you bring your questions or
concerns to the right person and place as efficiently as possible.
The last page includes names, addresses and phone numbers
for every person and office mentioned.
