Ann Finan

Ann FinanProfessor Finan is in her second year teaching at SCSU. Her specialty is the Sociology of Food and Agriculture, especially as it relates to the natural environment and rural communities. She will be teaching SOC 195: Democratic Citizenship; SOC 201: Social Inequality; SOC 200: Environmental Sociology; and other specialized environmental sociology courses as the need emerges.

Ann graduated from Iowa State University in 2007 with a Ph.D. in Sociology and Sustainable Agriculture. She is active in the Rural Sociological Society, and is working on several research projects investigating the intersection of food and agriculture systems, environmental sustainability, and social justice, and recently had an article accepted for publication in the journal Agriculture and Human Values.
