About the School
The mission of the School of Health and Human Services (SHHS) is to prepare our students to be leaders, scholars, and professionals in promoting and providing lifelong optimal health and wellness.
SHHS is the largest professional school at SCSU comprised of 5 departments and 4 programs. We offer 12 undergraduate degree programs and 11 graduate degree programs. All of our programs are recognized for their teaching excellence and service to the community. Almost all of our programs are nationally accredited. The programs in the School of Health and Human Services are collaborative and interdisciplinary and offer a wide and diverse range of opportunities and community partnerships for our students.
Our school has a dedicated group of faculty and staff who are committed to helping students develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to be successful and productive in health care and human services careers. A hallmark of our programs is the integrated experiential learning opportunities for our students. Each semester, we have over 400 students placed in community sites working with our community partners and people across the life span to support optimal health and well-being.
