School of Health and Human Services
On behalf of our faculty, staff and students, I am pleased to welcome you to the School of Health and Human Services at St. Cloud State University. The programs in the School of Health and Human Services are collaborative and interdisciplinary and offer a wide and diverse range of opportunities and community partnerships for our students.
Our school has a dedicated group of faculty and staff who are committed to helping students develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to be successful and productive in health care and human services careers. While our school is relatively new, our departments and programs are well established and have distinguished track records in teaching, research, and community partnerships.
A hallmark of our programs is the integrated experiential learning opportunities for our students. Each semester, we have over 850 students placed in community sites working with our community partners and people across the life span to support optimal health and wellness.
We are dedicated to preparing ethical leaders, scholars and professionals in their disciplines. Our programs are recognized for their teaching excellence and service to the community. Almost all of our programs are nationally accredited.
Our Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic provide services to children and adults with a variety of speech, language and hearing disorders. Our Nursing Simulation Laboratory is state of the art for our Nursing Students. The Human Performance Laboratory has an adult fitness program, tests athletes (high school and collegiate), and provides community education and corporate research. The Integrated Science and Engineering Laboratory Facility will house our Medical Laboratory Science, Nuclear Medicine and Radiologic Technology programs by Fall 2013.
The School reaches out to the community by co-sponsoring and/or participating in events such as the Breast Cancer Walk, Cancer Prevention Study – 3 (CPS-3), International Noise Awareness Day, Latino community health events, the Community Health Fair. All departments and programs have active and vibrant student organizations.
We value our relationships with our students, alumni and community members and partners. It is an exciting time to be on our campus. Please stop by and visit us at any time. We’d love to see you.
