Student directors submit and critique potential survey questions, study assigned survey literature and conduct training sessions for new callers before surveys begin, among other duties. Opportunities to present survey findings at campus and professional conferences are available.
Student directors work 2-20 hours per week. Weekly meetings are held Wednesday afternoons.
Student callers are needed regularly by the SCSU Survey. Graduate and undergraduate students with good communication skills are encouraged to apply to be paid callers on three to five surveys each year.
Student callers are required to attend two or more training sessions to learn background information about the survey and necessary procedures to follow. After receiving training, callers may be hired on a regular basis. Evening shifts are available.
