Pre-Law LLC

Members of the Pre-Law LLC will have the opportunity to:

  • Engage in floor activities that relate to the Pre-Law experience
  • Attend student organization/club meetings related to Pre-Law
  • Participate in a variety of career exploration activities such as career fairs, job shadows, and interest inventories
  • Take courses and study with other students living on the same floor

Members of the Pre-Law LLC will be expected to:

  • Live in the Pre-Law Living Learning Community located in Sherburne Hall
  • Take the following courses in fall semester:  Introduction to Political and Legal Reasoning (POL 191), Intro to Rhetorical and Analytical Writing (ENG 191)
  • Take the following courses in spring semester:  Honors Social Science (HONS 260) OR American National Government (POL 111), and Intro to Communication Studies (CMST 192)

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explore the legal profession and diversity of career opportunities
  • Research and articulate expectations for admission to law school
  • Understand core competencies required for success in law school and formulate a plan to begin developing those skills
  • Become contributing members of their communities

Requirements to Participate in Pre-Law Living Learning Community:

  • Have identified Pre-Law as an intended area of study
  • Be an incoming first-year student
  • Have a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA
  • Have a minimum composite ACT score of 23
