Residential Life Students eating in Garvey

Rates/Housing Costs

Living on campus is a great value. It’s easy to budget when you know exactly what your expenses will be. In the halls there are no hookup charges for phone or cable TV. There are no deposits or hidden costs. Meals are included, as well as some extra money on your ID card for late night snacks! Our residence hall costs are well below the national average, making them very affordable for students. The full academic year costs are approximately $6016. This includes everything (food, utilities, local phone, cable TV, ResLife Cinema movie channel, on-line computer access, etc.). Lawrence Hall residents are assessed a minimal fee for the additional amenities (air conditioning, in-room sinks, adjustable modular furniture).

The exact cost will vary according to the meal plan that you choose. The rates for the 2009-2010 academic year are listed below:

It is important to note that the university does not send out bills for tuition or room and board. It is the student’s responsibility to check their account online and to be aware of all payment deadlines. Access your bill.

University housing accommodations are available on a priority basis during summer intersession and regular summer session terms.  The priority for accepting applications and providing assignments is based upon availability as well as the priority criteria listed below:

  • Students who will be enrolled for courses during either the intersession and/or regular summer session(s), and have completed an application and prepayment for housing, and also have completed an application and are contracted to live in University housing for the upcoming fall semester (requires a completed application and prepayment for fall semester).

  • Students who will be enrolled for courses during either the intersession and/or regular summer session(s), and have completed an application and prepayment for housing.

  • Students who are contracted to live in University housing for the upcoming fall semester, and/or the preceding spring semester, and require summer housing in lieu of returning home in between spring and fall semesters due to extreme distance.  Student must have completed an application and prepayment for summer housing.

  • Students who are contracted to live in University housing for the upcoming fall semester, and/or the preceding spring semester, but need summer housing to assist with University employment, research, internship, or other non-credit bearing University related activity that can be documented through a sponsoring department.  Student must complete an application and prepayment for summer housing.

All other requests for summer session housing will be reviewed on a case by case basis, with formal assignment being made after all other applicant groups noted above have been assigned for the applicable summer term.

A housing agreement for summer session must include a $100 pre payment/proof of payment in order to receive an assignment.  Incomplete housing agreements will not be considered for assignment.  Completed housing agreements will be assigned based upon date of completion according to the priority groups noted above.
